Yo Kon The Don, I'm not so sure that's what people mean. I think it's more of an issue of the other vets were doing a historical style piece and yours came across more as bitter and petty.
But it's all good, you gotta do you. |

This turned out nearly perfect in my opinion.
Orion, awesome job with your verse. I didn't want your topic due to the outside research and necessity for so many past references. I got specific in some cases (Had to) , but wisely chose something that was more open to a general recollection rather than specific, and was able to put more effort into being creative with mine, which is what I preferred. You killed it with the flow. Just exemplifies a veteran at this word game. Cuba, some things never change. You've always had a unique, "won't dumb it down" approach as far back as I can remember. Props for staying true to yourself on a consistent basis. I personally feel your lines are not always fully understood, and some people just give props because they know it's supposed to be good even if they don't catch it the first read. The lines genuinely make sense if you're up to speed with your references and definitions of your vocabulary. Rapping dictionary. You show no mercy for the ignorance of a situation that you're savvy to. Ha. Orion, you invited Scotty to this party? J/p. I felt Scotty did a good job in this context, and delivered a verse that was not a let down. Could have been a disaster seeing as he rarely writes yet collabed with the names mentioned, but held his own. Good job. As for the feed, thanks for your time. My verse seemed to be the most polarizing of the bunch. Well, I wouldn't like it any other way. It wasn't my intention (I'm on a positive stride), but if you felt that way, yes, you're condescended. If that's the reason you're not feeling a verse on a rap site called Lyrical Assault, then there's nothing I can say. It's in rhyme, so I don't see anything to complain about even if that was my intention. Peace. |

Can't believe I haven't fed this. I remember reading it and then something came up, then I guess it got moved.
But yo, this shit was major. Kon and Scotty's verses were good don't get me wrong but O and Cuba killed this shit. The history y'all laid out in your verses was master storytelling type shit. I think y'all did a good job of bringing it full circle too. Loved that Cuba started it off with the Vereran's Day reference, brilliant! Kon, nice to see you back dropping. Preciate the mention in this. If it helps any, I 100% agree about how punches should be the deciding factor in a battle. I don't Think that gives anybody open range to rhyme shit like gangsta and Pampers tho. Just saying. Peep my punches tho, they were stellar! Scotty, it's always nice to see you drop a verse from out of nowhere. You got a good memory and can always add something that most people had forgotten or didn't know, even when you're just having a conversation on the board. Overall this was a great historical type piece, LA has a rich history and I'm happy to be a small part of it. I would have really enjoyed seeing BSD and Jehu get in on this one or some guy like Nep, Cal and Perfecto come back and drop in. I miss alot of the old heads like those guys. But yeah, we'll played here, say up all. |

That was your subcon proving that deep down you lost that battle and had to cheat to win. Keep ignoring me. I see your panties. |

No I didn't...
'Cuba's stories'...that was all the words I could afford...but I got them in there...in good company alongside Stank's pics and Chain's gifs Unless you were talking to Jehu...in which case...forget it But yeah...doing this event in general, as well as writing this piece...took a lot of research to get me all caught up...and while I wasn't able to give it as much time as was needed to really make it as good as it could have been, and as much as it came at a bad time for activity, I'm glad I did it in a way and appreciate those who did their thing and have supported its success... And to think, all this 'cuz I fucked up my shoulder...which finally healed fully like two days ago, just as LA X is wrapping up...and there you have it

I had been dating a girl for a few months when I joined a 2 month-old LA. This week, as LA turns 10, my daughter turned one. I went from wasting hours on LA to literally not having the time to take aside 20 minutes and contribute (just trying to write this has taken me an hour due to work interruptions, and I've had to change the amount 4 times). That said, this was great, and Orion, you really nailed down a lot of those LA memes (Vote sombrero, btw), and events.
The flow, content and rhymes on this piece by everyone was on point. Cuba, your words amaze me every time I read them. You are legend. Shav, you brought it and showed that everything is cyclical. There were people in 04 that were saying the new guys were nothing compared to the ones (Ecliptic/2Ton,others from before LA had its own site, back when it was a groups site) before them. Those 04 dudes are now legends. There new generations will always be put down at first. Game was played for being new before he was an Ikon, now doing the same to others, lol. Many of us don't have time for LA. I wouldn't have been as involved in music if it wasn't for this site, so even it it's once every 2 years, I'll be around in some way. |

Appreciate the responses from everybody...for a while, while writing this, I didn't like it at all, but by the time I finished it I've actually come to be pretty happy with it, especially in terms of serving its purpose, both standalone and in combination with what the other guys brought
There was a lot more material -- probably another 56 bars' worth, that never made it in -- ten years is a long motherfuckin' time, and I've been here for nine and a half of them, and know the other six months well enough also...so getting it all in was no easy thing...so while I took my shot in the piece re people being omitted who can go fuck themselves, there is obvious truth to that but it's definitely worth clarifying that (and I should have written it in the piece...only real regret, besides getting my own record wrong) there are quite a lot more people I would have liked to have mentioned if I could...including Renegades

Orion, dope story, intriguing glimpse of the past mixed in with modern insight. Great read
Cuba, not the typical verse I'm used to reading from you, was still a hit though. Couple sections with some really nice flow Ikon, felt you killed this. Nice flow throughout, excellent syllable balance and most of all very entertaining content. "Decent members battling newbies just to get their ranks up I tap the touchscreen text ranking, and witness the vast sums...Like… "That's cool, but your record would've suffered back then In LA's Golden era, talent was more prevalent," made me lol "I reply, "Set it up, House Rules. Send it through..." My account gets auto-locked. IP's match?! Wonder whose!" DUN DUN DUNNNNN Scotty, first time reading anythin from you haha its good to know still pick up the pen once and awhile. fitting conclusion to the collab. Congrats again on 10 years

Such different styles all around. Every verse can be appreciated in its own way and they all mesh so well no matter how different they were. O always reminded me a Rakim as to how effortless the style looks. It's always so smooth and never loses rhythm. Cuba is second to none when it comes to the vocab and wording. Loved the verse...very aggressive as well and awesome take on this. Ikon...awesome to see his skills back on display for this one. Really creative and detailed take on the future. Never lost pace and ended it very creatively. Scotty did a solid job as well telling his side of the story. Brought it better than people I've seen who say they've written for a long time. Slick closer as well. Awesome collaboration here. Everything came together awesomely and I'm glad to have come back at the right time to witness this cool 10 year event you guys set up. Great job.

This was cool. Kinda retro with all the old old shit y'all talking bout though. You know, the same ol same. It some tmes feels like hearing gramps tell the same old Vietnam story I've heard him tell a million times before when I read conversations between Orion and Scotty.
All the verses were decent though. Good shit. |

Orion - Soooooo! The monster wakes. (shoulda mentioned me LOL)...naw but real talk...I always enjoy when you come out the woodwork. Everyone (whether they dislike ya or dig ya)...likes it when the classic champion throws hit hat in the ring. It was cool how you referenced all the newer crews being new errors. (including mine...ha). Nice history lesson. Yup you still got skills bruh.
Ikon - wuss good ! J-5 won fair and square....LOL....I loved that war you two were in. That makes for some classic shit. No one ever doubted your skills. I totally agree with the newb thing. Theres no enjoyment or sense of surprise battling someone with zero chance of winning. But the flip side to that is...how are the new guys gonna elevate if they never get a shot. So its a double edged sword. Me?...I like battling someone whos gonna make sure the votes end up split. Its that edge that makes you really question what it is you lack so then you tend to scrutinize your work and spot your mistakes. On that note....I would love to see you and J-5 have one last battle. It would be epic. Good work on the verse. (again....good to see LI in the drop) Cuba - whatt it do!! LOL...I like how both renegades took some quick shots at us and others. Your style is pretty deadly due to your vast knowledge. I always , since I first arrived, liked your extensive vocabulary. Its not like how others use it , like when they write a piece full of long winded words to buffer their show of wit. You actually "USE" it. Its so easy to tell when somebody has the google gun and drops a piece full of pseudo educated nonsense. But you genuinely wield these words and drop them effectively. I think thats just raw. Plus you got that Biblical apocalyptic/Roman Warhorse type of style that just vibes so well as you make sure each line is integrated with the next. Good work! (good to see LI in the drop) Scotty!!- Wow.....What can I say....you surprised me the most here. But then again....I always knew you had the temptation to write and drop santhin. You executed your drop almost perfectly IMO. I laughed at the Beast Mode line and the battle between Kos and Orion. That was slick...in a short drop you kinda gave us a nice glimpse into L.A.'s powerful past. Great work Scotty...you oughtta drop an OM every now and then.
