Ayo, black - it's time...

Liars cry wolf, but sometimes it's the truth, there's...
Something 'bout a broken clock that certainly confuses...
Those too obtuse...never on the watch...
For what the hourglass says till the sandfall stops.
Staring at their sundial in the darkness, where's the tock ?
Tick... setting their alarms just to wait for a shot
They can't tell time but they can tell you what you're not
Me, I'll read the chronograph before the twist of plots.
Headed back to the future to harvest what I jot...
Down 'cause the pen and pad are Marty and the Doc.
From Seiko to Rolex, life ain't like Memento
It plays out like a short skit, no 'Rewind' instrumental.
Daylight Saving Time won't buy you back an hour
You can try to slow it down by buying bags of sour
Cats are always late, oh I know I done struck a nerve
Set your Swatch 10 minutes ahead and catch that bus to work
Time flies like a drunken bird, the pain's a penguin
We all gotta do time, we all ain't delinquents.
But it's a life sentence we all are forced to serve
No Shawshank Redemption...the court's adjourned.
...from zero to sixty in a New York minute
For you it only clicked after YouPorn linked it
Shish kabob'ed by the odds and the sheep you followed
Can't come back for re-do's like the T-2 models.

Time!

ha like the nas reference in the beginning.

this is dope. i usually associate you with a stream of conscious but i can get used to this. i've always love when writers can manipulate aphorisms and idoms in a fresh and unique way. i try to do that pretty often in my drops but i can say this seems to come so naturally to you.

Those too obtuse...never on the watch...
For what the hourglass says till the sandfall stops.

and sprinkle a bit if your very own turn-of-phrases like:

They can't tell time but they can tell you what you're not

the daylight saving line was fire! Was hoping to read a new joint from you and was certainly not disappointed!

I found this piece a blended offering, on one hand you delve into
the its workings and effects it has on us all via its unstoppable
nature, then you go on to describe it in a modern setting by re-
cording it and travelling through and with it,all along letting us
know its nothing more than a measurement of motion, because
time is nothing more than abstract in essence, thought provoking
verse really, it was cleverly wrote out piece, plus with an added
dollop of time recording devices as a common concept, enjoyed
this one my man..RIPE..peace.
"You need to learn how to make an exit,
before you can dare make an entrance".

I love it when someone takes something you can write in one line, and make a whole topical about it. With this subject matter it could've gotten pretty stagnant however it was fresh throughout, didn't get repetitive, and seemed to be just the right length. It flowed, it didn't get clunky, and had the benefit of being something you can re-read even in a non-lyrical way just to remind yourself that the clock is always ticking. It's something universally forgotten, but highly important. Touching on how quick it passes, and how people make excuses (the 10 minutes forward line was raw) added to it and gave it different elements. A good mix of everything.

@ Sam-I-Am - there were multiple Nas references

Really dug it, I smiled after reading it when I had to google what the title was about. I enjoyed it on multiple levels, as always, a pleasure to read. Really liked that Back to the Future part, wish I'd come up with that.

This guy been on boss mode for at least a decade, you'd think he'd get tired.
