Is hip hop like Marxism in its Soviet stage
A Bastardized Movement locked in a Cage
Is the dream over, has the Morning come
Where is the next generation? banging that drum
Wheres the tunes that makes us get up of it ?
Budden's trying to be a prophet but to many trying to make a profit
I cant be a hater, cant say the newcomers are wack
But sumin is wrong when album of the year is the Notorious soundtrack
Wheres the tadpoles straining for air, the new stuff is fucking appalling
Pac was Marx and Big was Trotsky, we aint got Stalin but we are staling
We become obsessed with beats, sacrificing lyrics and flows
Rappers talking about topics less real than reality shows
used to bow to the old school, saw them as pure like Jesus mother
But then i saw, Collio on celebrity Big Brother
We had Pun rapping so hard he had heart attack
Now we got rappers on adverts and that's just wack
Hip Hop used to be the Philosophy of music searching for truth
But now people calling Wayne the greatest so whats the fucking use
Hip Hop had its Plato and Kant full of thought it was legit
But now Hip Hop is like Theology based on a load of shit
will Rap get its Christ destined to be stuck in the side with spears
Lets face it, it ain't Nas he aint had a dope Cd for over ten years
Tech had two dope Lp's but now it appears all a stunt
And jigga sold his lyricism so he could get beyonce's Cunt
People worship the underground but that makes me pissed
They all like Christians waiting for a saviour who don't exist
The Pattern with Marxism cant continue would leave my soul torn
Ask yourself one question, are you the emcee to make hip hop reborn

lmao @ can't be a hater then saying "the new stuff is appallin"

"less real than reality shows" is pretty dope...like ironic in a way, liked the "Big Pun rapping so hard he had a heart attack" too...

*skips over Nas comment*

Best bit of the verse for me. This was real cool man, I also like the searching for truth/Wayne bar cause it's exactly how I feel lol only thing I picked up on was no multis, try incorperating them in, it improves flow and readability of the verse. Good job though.
