Suggestions as to what the final match should be. Same as before, I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys have.

What about a mix of a picture/topical battle. I the battlers are set a picture to write about and the topic has to be linked in some way. Like say a picture of a decaying building and the topic is say death. You could write about the death of humanity leading to the destruction of the world.

What about if the topic for the final was a personal one...
ex. Dramatic Childhood Experience, Embarrassing Moments, The moment that changed your life the most.. Etc. It will be based on the own writers experience. That way the topical itself will be better because it is directly related to the battler, and it leaves the door open to something that isn't so limited. |

Good ideas here^^^^ I just hope it's something entertaining. The change your life thing while a great think for the writer could be really drab and lack imagery. Should be something where the writer has his creativity at his full disposal. Examples
Waking up in a creepy insane asylum - Leaves room to describe ppl, objects, emotions, scenery etc.. Being killed in a car wreck and going to heaven/hell Being a baby in the womb and being born - could describe how you perceive life around you in the womb... Just some thought's |

All of those are your typical topicals that anyone would think of TBH.
They will easily have lots of imagery and emotion in a piece like that. It's personal about there life, it will be much deeper than any random topic that you could give them. |

I understand completely, but say my personal experience is being in hurricane Katrina and yours in being bullied in junior high, is their not a huge advantage for me? Just asking bro, your tourney and so far its been great man.. So do your thing..

i was about to post something close to this....good idea but wouldn that put them out there? People'l make use of those personals against them in battles, isnt it so?.... Then i though of this.... How about the finalist get given characters? E.g, (Name of a great writer, poet, rapper, actor, activist) .. Each.. See in South Africa, if you can check the news, the ANC's biggest competition is a new party called EFF ... It'l be something like, Finalist 1 (Jacob Zuma) vs Finalist 2 (Julius Malema)...? |

Good writers will always find a way to get their verses where they need to be. And same with the personals, one personal concept from a Tourney verses isn't going to hurt them when battling.

I have an idea..
Give the writers the same topic or picture, have it be a multi-verse battle (like 3 verses each) but say 20 lines or so for each verse.. Then have 1 writer start the topical, have the other writer continue from writer #1's verse, thus creating an intertwined story where each battler will have to be smart about how they go about doing it in order not to screw up the story for the next verses.
