WWC Magazine Volume 11

I would firstly like to open this week’s magazine with an apology. Sorry it took so long to get this one in. It’s been a real challenge finding time in between having family gather at my home for the Holiday week. But FINALLY, I was able to sit down and churn another one out.

As always, mucho gracias to all who participate and vote. It really is appreciated, and I hope you all have enjoyed the WWC up to this point. With that said. . lets get this started

This week’s image is of a group of police officers walking down what appears to be an urban city street painted in graffiti and trash littering the streets. Let’s dig into these verses a bit and see everyone’s approach to the topic.

iLL ScriptureZ

“Shield for protection, in love with a vi-o-lent scrum
Tension was thick & tight as a violen strung
This was music to my ears not a si-o-lent hum
Been waitin’ for the day to try out this club”

Got a real immortal technique / dance with the devil vibe off this joint. The introduction was gripping and iLL utilized some sick word bending to kick this one off. Fluid as usual, I expect nothing less from this guy.

Crimson Juice

“A shooting & unemployment was the cause of our deployment,
Nervously im not feelin' buoyant about my current appointment,
Chantin' loud a crowd ready to blow up like a mushroom cloud,
Acting intimidating & proud i use my shield like it was a shroud,”

Crim wrote a very atmospheric heavy piece here. It was detailed and descriptive. I could easily place myself in this officer’s moment and time. This is a great display of how you can attack the topic head on, while letting the content drive the creativity and breathe life into the image.

Rutter Knows Best

“These gritty streets, where the smell of pity reeks,
Riots n looting the only language the city speaks,
Thousands of soldiers, not one 'bout no military
Black n yellow ring out, they swarm like killer bees”

So this told the story of a man who seemingly gets enjoyment out of beating the disorderly citizens. You started this off with some excellent multis and the story just ramped up from there. Solid work here Rutt

Neek

“our whole outfit, front to back, it's comedy, it..just is.
"broken men", walk of shame.. the nominee crushed us

"Halloween, 2018"… "What Not To Do: for 500"
lost a costume contest: Shamu and her husband
hippie love, ole Bonaroo type fuckshit
we came through, Call of Duty squad destruction”

Neek always comes with a crazy and creative angle. I love the fact that you never really know where his verses may end up until the very end. Even more impressive is that his fluent writing and great mechanics never waver.

Daydizzle89

Rocks hurt, thown by modern day marauders
Enslaved by politics looking to slaughter
Spraying jets of water off at the brawlers
Disorder i prevent with honor

Due to Day being placed on timeout (haha) I took the liberty of having him submit the verse to me by other means so I could post for him. The topic is right up Day’s alley, so im glad that we got one from him this week. The read was effortless and fits right in with much of the political atmosphere we see in modern times.

The Rap Daemon

The reason enforcing rules sounds negative might just be
The fact you're all a bunch of rebellious idiots high in greed
It's not that I'm about denouncing issues arising, see-
-incidents like the one with Michael Brown were definite times police-

A lot of truth bomb dropped in this verse, and it’s great to see that some people do stand on the side of holding bad cops accountable while supporting good cops. Onto the verse itself, it was supported by strong mechanics and a very flushed out concept.

CHAIN

“"Even pros go to jail where your blackness is a con
Where the avenues have turned into a MAGA hat-a-thon"
"They will have to pay for what happened to my mom"
Just another Sandra Bland that the Kavanaughs have harmed”

So this verse lands on the side of social injustice and speaks on police brutality. Equipped with witty word play to drive the narrative and that ever fluid flow that CHAIN is known for . . . another effortless read with top notch execution.

Neek

look at us, im almost disgusted
complete mockery, how to spend the populus budget
just walkin around, looking like commoner justice
wandering dust bins, trashed dirtballs, awfully suspect.

our whole outfit, front to back, it's comedy, it..just is.
"broken men", walk of shame.. the nominee crushed us

"Halloween, 2018"… "What Not To Do: for 500"
lost a costume contest: Shamu and her husband
hippie love, ole Bonaroo type fuckshit
we came through, Call of Duty squad destruction

but nahhh, let Julie win - her self esteem's important
fuck me, and fuck the homies, no celebratory tokens

all we got left, is this pic, I feel the jealousy explodin'
didn't do it for the 'Gram, no tellin me it's dope when…

EVERYBODY COMMENTING NEVER EVEN VOTED!!!

Congratulations sir! Once again your name gets forever immortalized into . . .

Best of luck everyone and if I don’t get a chance to talk to you by the weekend, have a great and relaxing Thanksgiving.
