   A fractured mind, disguised by a night sky
The owl can barely rhyme
It twists and turns, an intelligent curse
'til he murmurs words that barely resemble a verse

Die tonight or stay and fight
Tell the therapist he's always right
Sorry; meant to say I'm alright
Reminds himself there's more than her in this life
But he's heard the voices for so long he doubts their lies
Disconnects and falls free from gravity
Can't tell fiction from reality
Lacks conviction and morality
He loves her brains and anatomy
They're in different lanes, sadly
His persistence is maddening
Always worried she's mad at me
Says she'll join when he's happy
Tragedy
Can't keep his perspectives straight
Missed his chance, left it 'til too late
Even in the beginning Adam had Eve,
So why THE FUCK is this my destiny?
Where's my forbidden tree and a friendly snake talkin' to me?

Somewhere I feel like I can never be
Is this really his plan for me?
A life I don't understand, don't even know if I hate it
All I know is that if it were up to me, this is NOT how I would have made it
I woulda taught him something else OTHER than hatred
OTHER than having him thinking he's better than layman's
OTHER than having him struggling making payments
OTHER than thinking he's deranged whenever he opens pages
From a book he wish he never wrote
Memories he had hoped to erase with the end of a rope
His life's like a punchline at the end of a bad joke
But he's seen that outcome and knows peace begets pain
So he struggles for others joy, and at best he stays sane
Remains the same, his brain ingrained
With the belief he can never be trained
Never grow, never fill in the frame
He's a shell of his former self
The ten year old who didn't know hell
Didn't know about his mental health
Just enjoyed his lower middle wealth and wellbeing
It's obscene that at thirteen he thought he'd see
His pops ghost, thoughts of loss shed a single tear at most
Childhood reversed
A man's like a plant, needs the son to grow
Went from good to worse
He's right to think so, just short of a schizo
Used to keep the sleeves on his wrists low
Will he be missed? I believe so
Deaths sweet kiss; please no
I hope that ..

It doesn't matter what he tries
Failure after failure his whole life
Maybe later he'll thrive
But please tell me, in who's eyes?
If you say yours I'll know it's lies
I can see right through the disguise

A creative with no fruit
Not an MC and he lacks the Juice
Rarely has a good idea, and when he does it gets missed
Savours his hidden victories, and he's left alone to reminisce

	why would an owl rhyme (or be expected to rhyme?). that aside, i actually read this a few times over the course of the day and its not too bad, man. Haven't seen u in an ill minute but nice come-back piece. Wording were pretty good most the way through. some nice imagery too (like the sleeves line). overall, good to see u back, AA.

	thanks for the comment Sammy Honestly I wrote it months before posting it, found it as an unfinished piece on my phone notebook and went back over it to finish it. Don't remember why I was so focused on using an 'owl' when i originally wrote it, but i felt like keeping it. Looking back at it and analysing, I don't think it's too far fetched of a concept. In the simplest form, I'm just a night owl who likes to write but doesn't have much confidence in my writing ability. anyway, thanks again.

	Owls are dope, the fuck ya'll talm bout?!?! Did you know a group of owls is called a parliament? This is because owls are considered to be wise and shit. It's also legal to keep owls as pets. There was especially a heavy influx after the Harry Potter movies cuz people thought they was dope. While they are, they don't really make great pets. Sort of like Ravens. They're demanding, need a lot of space and attention. Especially snow owls, arguably the dopest ones take special care. They're not suited for temperate climates. As for the piece? Was dope fam. Unfortunately by now my break is over so I won't be able to go in depth but I'm with Sammy here.
