Topic: Open Mic of the Month - March 2015 Posted: 01 April 2015 at 6:47pm |
CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
This is not about the man, this is about the work. This is about the best Open Mic produced in the relevant month. The consistency or elevation of the author can be a factor in your decision, but it should not be main factor. The work it's self should stand out on it's own merits. RULES FOR VOTING/POSTING

Tongue Punch Ya Mother's Fart Box Volume 6This Om was dope as shit. They all came with their own styles and killed it. This is hands down a OMOTM.

there have been many nice OMs this month but not many which deserve OMOTM , Ima go with Tongue Punch Ya Mother's Fart Box Volume 6 just cuz it was simply a standout for the past month, Other than that there were many raw attempts not many great stuff tbh.

Whut? March was pretty good month for the OM. Yall better read and recognize.
Some nice pieces from the usual hoodlums: Control Unit, Opulence, The Grind is kind of poetry, The Sharpest Spoken Gliders, Tongue Punch, Sin-Atra + others prolly I forgot. Some new cat also flexed: Thoughtless Crusade, Golden Opus The underrated comments from dalinquent also inspired some fine disses back and forth. Good shit but my fav this month was.. The Dark Arts by Rutter\nomeds, just a deadly executed collab, both nailed the topic at hand. |

Gotta go with TPYMFB 6, the guys all came with a killer twisted verse, Elite and Nom especially, continuing a dope series and when you get that many creative writers on one piece its expected. It was easily the best OM, can't really find another one to compete

There were a lot really dope pieces this month. Almost to many to chose from. I thought I had a good month with accurate intellect and dark arts also beans presents la cypher ( went under the radar) but the piece I enjoyed most was
Beans- juvenile dalinquent- I thought both verses at chain and dal were real nice. The punchlines and disses were hard and it had a more cohesive feel as a diss verse than he normally has. Was my favourite of the back and thorths. |

I felt like this months TPMFB was not as good as I've come to expect.... honestly i found it hard to find a great piece to vote for i think ex killed the OM section this month and he might have april locked down but as for march it is really hard for me to pick a clear winner.... beans Juvenile Delinquent is my vote though.

Imma go for Rutter Knows Best and Nomedic for their "Dark Arts" both shown amazing elevation in that drop, it had consistent quality the whole way through and was a thoroughly good read.
