Ok, I'd loveto break this down line for line but obviously there's a shit load of bars so I'm not gonna bother.
Orion - There were some true murderous parts to this verse. I wasn't sure how well you'd come in this battle being rusty and obviously knowing how much time you worked on it. Flow was ok for the most part, got choppy at times, for a text battle though I don't think it matters too much. Opener was good, liked the James Brown punch too. My fav lines though were the "kos Moses did" line, that actually had me laughing and obviously the "You failed to deliver" line, which was absolutley beastly, 2's status, although this time I feel you were justified in using a line like that. Could have ended stronger after the bar you set with the "Failed to deliver" line but was overall pretty impressed. I could go on about more of the bars which impressed me and which didn't but I don't wanna write a vote longer than the verses. Kosmosis - I actually really liked your opener, HOWEVER, as has been said to you before by the man himself and I can also confirm this, he isn't Chinese, therefore to me personally all of you're Chinese punchlines missed for me cause it's just like a fake personal. I also felt you spent a large amount of time just saying that Orions verse was shit, which as a one off filler 'personal' you can maybe get away with, but you did this numerous times and as I liked his verse I also felt this didn't hit. Closer was decent, but overall I felt there was too many misses or just generally weak punchlines. In closing, a battle that didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I thought it ended up pretty one sided and was expecting a lot more from Kos considering how much he's been bigging himself up over the past months. So, my vote goes to Orion. Take it or leave it. |

So Really? I thought it was the more clever of the 2 drops, thought the Opener and Closer were better and it flowed better (I agree Orion’s was choppy) As for the “fake personals”, that’s moot. Cause that “James” drop is all that O referenced and it was clearly bait (I can vouch for that too) As for creativity? Have we not heard the same exact Christian/Family/IQ stuff for months now? This was like a weaker version of what CHAIN killed Kosmo with already. Go read CHAIN's again, it kills O's. O- Should've attacked his skill more than just referencing 1 Open Mic and his religion that's been done to death already. Flow was choppy, format was choppy. Best hit was the "cause Moses did" line. Would've been nice to see you expose his actual mistakes or his battles against him rather than info that "he purposely provided you with".
Kosmo - Opener was funny as shit, closer was better than O's (again O referencing an Open Mic). The MSN-emies line killed, The callback to Veritas was clever. You did alot less lines than he did though, could've used those extra lines for some soccer references or something. You did a good job of making a personal against a dude that works hard at not revealing personal info.

I just spent like 30 minutes on my fucking vote, and I hit "back" by mistake (quick scrolling ftl) So here it is again, in shorter, sharper terms : -Orion- , solid verse. Some nice concepts, solid punches, kos mosis did bar was hot, Killing baby brother bar was raw, there was another sick punch in there towards the end, The Murphy's law punch, that was sick. Didn't think the format of the verse would help you none, but it was quite the opposite. Made it very easy to follow, flowed well, nice verse. Kosmosis, Chinese shit fake personals, and other fake personals are a massive negative for me. MSN-imies line was nice, but it seems you come unstuck when trying to think of wordplay and metaphors. Yeah, you got similes, but they're child like (Up in your grill like a molar, for example) - and really just don't have an effect on the battle. Considering O's drop wasn't of the highest standard, you had an epic opportunity here to crush him, but you just didn't. Pretty pissed off that I lost my previous vote, because I had everything down in a hell of a lot more detail, however, what I've got there is sufficient. Overall, pretty 1 sided battle here. -Orion- GMV......

Orion yo shit was soft more than vicious and punchy.The slut wife / the mom killin brother/and ect..... You set up your shit like its about to be hella funny but then it just fizzles.I been waiting to see your scripts for a long while so I guess I was anticipating too much.Wasn't considering how long you been away.You did have a few good lines but no where near the dopeness that some said you had IMO.Overall your drop was average .....but I did like your unusual style you brought to the table....the read was nice. Kos- One line stood out for me and that was the star elevation line.LOL.......the rest was along with Orions......just decent.....didnt see much else goin on with your drop niether except some repetitive things. This battle was hell close in my eyes and I really don't give a fuck what peeps think cuz frankly...I had to read these drops like 3 times each to make sure I didnt miss nothin.This battle was long winded and lost its appeal midway thru. I personally think that this was a catsweep by Kos.
Kos did his thing here.
To be quite frank, he didn't need to do much. TBH, Orions verse got way boring and sleepy. Plus his structure was all fucked up. Yes, Kos had his typical few stretched lines but still had a wayyy better rhyme scheme and flow than Orions. Seriously Orion said nothing. Makes me wonder how he has that record. Firstly - I'd like to say that I DO NOT AGREE with this pink slip shit. Although it makes for a more intense show-down - I dont believe that a loss should mean the end to a members membership. Anywhooo....... Orion - As Que already mentioned....I was a little disappointed with what you came out here with, in comparison to what I've read from you previously, but having said that, the Moses bar and those surrounding it killed this for me. The format was a bit funky but still easy to read and although you flow went off at points - I enjoyed your verse. Kos- I've already told you what I thought about this battle - and that I don't want to contribute to you leaving this site - which is why I'm voting now, so that I don't become that last voter to make that decision. Your verse was the best I've seen from you since you've been here - but the made up personals (which you and J5 seemed to be accustomed to) and the lack of consistency in your punches is why IMO, Orion beat you this time. MVGT - Orion And I'd just like to add - that my initial doubts on voting in this battle have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with anything that has happened between me J and Kos - it was solely cuz Orion NEVER votes on battles (or at least since I've been here). Though my decision still stands. Good luck to you both |
