Cuba- Your first two bars were very dope. The first was a clever reference, and the second was a good play that wasn't complicated, but flowed very well. The 3rd bar flowed well, but it felt like filler if i'm honest. The last bar was mixed, I loved the set up, but the punch itself was.. Ok. Like, i'm not saying its weak, but wasn't in the same level as your starting 2... 8/10.
PB- Your verse had the best flow throughout, made sure that even when a punch didn't quite hit hard, it was still impressive in a technical sense. Your first bar was great, thought it was a dope play. Your second was meh to me, nothing especially weak, I was just left with a shrug at the end of it. The 3rd was a good personal, however it had less affect for me, because he's a newb, and you're experienced, no ones reading that bar with shock you know, now if it'd been me, dtk, lucky.. etc, it would've been a great hit. Your last bar really made me laugh, LA social references are always welcome!... 8/10. 16/20. ....... Top Verse- Your verse had great vocab and lyricism, but it was seriously lacking in punches dude. Your first bar, whilst very well put, was a throw away in a battle like this. Same with the second. The third was by far your best, if you'd had personal nameplays like that in all your bars, you would've definitely been up there with it. The last bar was a nice idea, and you'd obviously realised you had to finally come personal, but it was worded a bit messily, and kind of made your verse exit with a tiny limp... 5/10. Bottom Verse- Your verse was more like it, really went for the nameplays. However, inevitably, some stick stronger than others. Your first bar, I really liked. I'm a man of research, and whilst others can't be arsed, I always appreciate looking up LA history. It was well worded too. Your second bar was wordy and a bit of a stretch, but I think you just about pulled it off, entertained me anyway! Your third bar was your weak bar to me. Wasn't a fan. Just didn't read right for me, maybe its just me though. 4th bar was clever, and got you back on track. Liked the reference linked in with a smooth nameplay... 8/10. 13/20. Goes without saying that it's no hate, and I really enjoyed this contest. Good Luck. MVGT- PB and Cubes.

Cuba/Point - I had really high hopes for both of you, you're both very talented battlers facing a "lower tier" team. Not saying they aren't good, just inexperienced. So! Cuba ..you were 50% efficient imo. The two opening bars were nice, great ideas executed well. It was a great start but you gotta keep that momentum moving along, closing out the verse nicely is critical and that closer was played as fuck. The bar above it was filler, it needs to be better. Not sure if you got bored or figured that you did enough..but I know you got better than that.
Point - I really did not like the opener, it seemed weak. He's never tried acting ghetto or thuggish before..if it could of been tied into a personal it would of been dope. Second bar was the bar of the battle IMO! It was a great play and it was worded nicely! Well done. Next was a nice personal, ill take the credibility of it. The closer was funny, but not killer. IMO better overall than Cuba consistency wise and quality wise.. Guy/Law First verse - ok! Law or Guy, which ever this was, please take my advice! You tried over complicating things..you had great ideas but you went for complex rhyming as we'll which makes things 100x harder. I'm not saying dumb it down, I'm just saying choose your wording wisely, the punch is more operant than the scheme! The opener was a decent hit, good way to start. The second bar I thought you had the lines in the wrong place, set up then punch right? Your wordplay was in the opener and filler in the punch line! The next bar was a good idea but poorly worded concept, it needed work. Simple but effective is what I try for. I liked the closer though, it was clever and relevant. If you had the same firepower throughout you would of half way more success. Second verse - more of the style that I prefer, I'm a huge wordplay fan. Opener was a great personal, well used ammo! Also the set up was nice. I see what you were going for in the second bar but the legoland bit seemed our of place. It didn't work for me. I loved this third bar , I'd tie it up likewise with points sentence bar. It was a killer shot! The closed was a nice personal to, showed you did research and used it well! Better verse of the two Vote : Cuba/Pb..better as a squad. Sometimes it just takes one person to have an off day! Stay up Law/Guy |

cuba- the plays in bars 2 n 3 were dope, like dress said bar 3 was fillerish but it was good filler, and the closer was a nice punch, guy on lock i have maybe seen before, but ignoring law was new to me, decent enough name plays, P. was all on point, 2nd bars flow was really nice, the 3rd punch did hit less cause it wasnt like one of those shock type punches the delivery made it. top verse, flow and multis were nice, your best concept was easily the closer, but didnt really form into a way of clowin him, bottom verse, really came out swingin, first bar had two nice personals next was a cool play, i read it as cube, anyway the third bar was your weakest imo but you brought it back with the closer that was a dope concept, tho maybe wordin could be improved to make it more direct and hit harder.
this was a cool read, but PBnCuba GMV, came harder and jus brought more punches to the field. |
