Here's my advice:
Ask yourself the following questions... 1. What do you look for in a verse? 2. What would you currently rate yourself out of 10 in terms of quality of your votes? 3. Do you read other people's votes on battles to understand, a) if you see what they are looking for in a verse, b) you can learn things from people who are more experienced that you when it comes to voting. My personal observations of your voting are twofold. 1. I notice you say things like "this was decent" (seems to be a word you use a lot) but oftentimes you don't really support your assessment. 2. You have various approaches to voting, which you seem to use randomly. Sometimes you use categories, then you don't, then you go back to categories but they've changed. Both of these things suggest to me that you have some way to develop when it comes to the quality of your voting. That said, you clearly are very eager to contribute. You vote a lot. You vote on things very quickly. In fact, sometimes I do wonder if you're in too much of a rush. You could maybe take your time a bit more...that's just generally, you seem to jump straight into acting before taking a second to think sometimes. Hope that helps. |

To go back to a point I made last year, or the year before. It's why I support a 'must use template' system, everyone votes in a different style and it can be confusing as fuck to new guys about how to vote or which way to do it. I've always thought with one standard template we all use, it'd be a lot easier for people to see how you breakdown a verse, and therefore put forward a good vote.

thats a problem for people like me. I look at all the technical aspects, and yes, they are categories that i sort out in my head and take all into consideration ... but at the end of the day, i will vote on the body of work that entertained or moved me the most and that's not always the verse that wins the majority of the categories |
