“So Come on meet the missus” an offer so polite – would it be contrite to dismiss?
Inviting me in for a cup of tea – takes time – affects me.. Are you in league?
I can’t afford to lose time – I don’t mean to be short I don’t even mean to demean
But my whole world could end – as that clock strikes thirteen
for that one cup of tea – I could lose everything that suddenly meant anything to me.

You see – I’ve made a few rash decisions, Said things slightly out of turn
People took advantage – teaching me lessons I’m yet to learn
All he did was take something of mine – he’s young – it’s barely a crime.
Everything would have healed – it only takes time.

But I haven’t got time.. In this maze where the walls move where I walk
Where the floors crumble away and trap me without a thought.
You apparently care – so why try and leave me somewhere
so easy to forget
Stuck in this oubliette.

The rules you created so easy to bend. You say you’re a good man – so quick to defend
Resorting to blackmail and miscreant deeds - you were never going to succeed.
As we dive through puzzles and riddles designed to test our mettle
our crew gets larger - ready to rise up against you.
You’re not evil – Your position of power makes you an unbearable leech.
Is this why you had to resort to a fairy tale – a poisoned peach?

as we waltz round this hall of mirrors, dancing this dance to distract us from the task at hand
as you try and cross this divide, hoping in all hope that one day I’ll understand.
While in this trance I stand.
My mind’s just dancing. Still dancing.

AS THE  CLOCK STRUCK  FOR THE  END
Another illusion burst – no more need for us to pretend
Even though  you profess your love again
the world falls down – your intentions there for me to see

It seems to have all settled – everything right with the world again
But without the people here – that stood beside me as friends
