When the majority of "hiphop culture" (and I mean actual hiphop culture, not rappers here before you get confused by your lack of information) went underground at the end of the media boom, the fastest growing turntablist, graffiti and bboying (I dare you to challenge me and say bboys and dj's are less a part of the culture than rap - also known as "hiphop's petulant little brother" - bonus points if yuo know where the quote comes from) community in teh world was in Germany, another area where europeans had a large impact on hiphop culture (in fact if you look at it, more powermoves and abstract footwork for bboying came from europe than the US, yes, it started in teh Bronx and Brooklyn had a huge impact on the original style, but bboying today would not exist without Europeans, the only people who repped the culture en-masse when everyone else went back to the underground.) BOTY one of the biggest hiphop festivals in teh world every year, is a german event with dj's bboys, writers and emcees from all over the wrold congregating in germany to rep their culture. SO again, Tawab you are a retard and should make no further comment on hiphop culture until you know what the fuck you are talking about. Herc's block parties were mainly the bronx actually, just a lot more bboys came from brooklyn. I've met the man himself, dope guy. And technically the "hiphop" culture we know and love was born from herc's block parties in the bronx. It was just heavily influenced by the jamaican culture which Herc came from. There's no doubt it IS American in origin, not jamaican. But the roots of it's influences are predominately jamaican I'll give you that :). The biggest breakin tourney in the world is in Germany, it's not even close to underground there. The biggest US crews enter that tourney aswell, funnily enough, they rarely win (Koreans got it on lock.)

Actually, nothing about it is uniquesly American. Period. Before the rappers hit the scene, hiphop consisted mostly of DJs and Bboys. The DJs cut the breakbeat - the breakbeat comes from a looping of funk beats, which are routed in LATIN (nothing to do with america, you can try and claim it if you like, but those cultures, and in fact the term "Latin" are european in origin) and AFRICAN (again a whole other content to america, in fact we're closer to them than you are.) music. Bboying, the part of hiphop that stays closest to it's roots and culture, you COULD try and claim it as "pure american" yet you'd be wrong, a lot of the steps in breaking come from Spanish (non-american) dances, traditional ballroom (non-american) dances, Capoeira (non-american) and Kung Fu (non-american) so again, your argument falls down.
We're talking about hiphop, not mainstream rap music, your point is moot.

The USA has extremely intelligent people - quite a lot of them, 'cuz the population is so big -but in terms of ratio, particularly when considering how well off the country is compared to many others, there are way more idiots than other places, it's actually hard to believe until you run into enough motherfuckers like you that just don't know anything
I don't really care what colour you are, America has done a good job at trying to make people of all races forget where they come from to distract from the fact that the actual Americans were almost made extinct after being butchered in the first place
