Point S- P.S with an obsession to 'M like the bottom of Stan's letter,
His man's a 'bland setter', slow drop, known flop.. Ex champ is no martyr
His views hope for Mo' Bots, so I have to beat the Cube like Mo Farah,
A non starter- No title to get docked, and P's free's seem less hot,
Sex blocked from their desktop = Couldn't get off soon as the Dress dropped,

This battle punch n personal wise was pretty close ki- 1st bar may of went over my head but it didnt hit for me n wirding coulda been smoother for a better read after thst your verse picked up n ended strongly Dtk- your open was good n a great punch wit the second line thought u had the better verse outta u an kiki also enjoyed your closer pb/cuba- ur verse trumped any high points ki or dtk had in there verses u guys played well off eachother n put together a real solid peice all in all came accross smoother n mad it hit harder to me mvgt cuba n point |

Dude, I think there's a balance...obviously the more established heads know a lot more & therefore can vote more detailed, but I think that as long as a "newbie" doesn't bullshit (I.e. says "your metas were ill" when they didn't have any) then I think your votes should count. Otherwise you get battles like this that drag on & nobody votes them...so yeah, there is a balance...but that said, I don't think you should take any old shit vote on a battle. Decent battle, Keeks had the best opener but I felt as the verses went on Keeks and DTK kinda hung around the same level with their verses, and had a few slip ups. Whereas Cuba and Point had a weaker opener, but picked up more as the verse went on and overall came at a consistently higher level. They actually had the more team like verse two, which was clever. The both interchanged, and set up punches for each other. With DTK and Keeks it just felt like two separate battle verses towards two different opponents, which isn't really what a tag tourny should be about. All that, combined with having the best punch of the battle for me makes the decision pretty clear for me. MVGT/ Point and Cuba. |

I think this battle needed more lines to work with. It's tough to work with only 4 bars each. Kiki: I don't think it's a good sign when your expos are almost as long as your verse. Granted, I'm giving you props for coming up with the concepts and thinking outside of the box, but I think you may have went a bit overboard on this one trying to jam pack your 4 bars with as many concepts/hits as possible. It just did not feel as smooth and clean as your other drops as the setups and punches were sometimes disconnected due to you trying to put a separate punch/concept into each line. The opener is a good example. I think the Hillsborough fence concept should've been a bar on its own as it was (potentially) the stronger punch compared to the M/stan concept. The M/stan concept is simply clowning on point for being obsessed with Manc but it is not that aggressive as a diss in the end IMO. Also, the Point S- P.S. was a bit messy probably should've been reworded. The 2nd bar was much better, I liked the Mo Farah play and the setup was very good as well. The 3rd bar could've been killer, but the equal sign and wording ruined it for me. Still, the personal (that dress beat them both) and idea (couldn't get off when dress dropped) was dope. The closer is another example of putting a high concept into the setup and punch that didn't work as well for me. I didn't like the P/metal concept at all. Too much IMO. The punch, however, was solid to me. Funny and an interesting way to go at the PC concept. Overall, I think your verse had the potential to be the best of the battle but a couple of the plays needed to be reworked to work for me. Dress: Funny opener. Good start. Second bar was another strong bar and still bringing the humor. Third bar fell flat due to obvious reasons but I understand the intent that it might have seemed like he never defended it. The closer could've been dope as the personal was great but the "clowned him for jokes" ruined it for me. Overall, it was a solid verse. It's a shame everyone couldn't get more lines to write with. Cuba/Point: I'm just gonna feed all 8 lines as is since that was the way you wrote it and presented it. Opener was a good start. 2nd bar was another good bar although I'm not a fan of those types of bars. The 3rd bar would've been killer if you could've linked or had examples of dress using old nameplays. As is, it's a bit weak to me (although I haven't read to many of Dress' recent battles). The 4th bar was alright to me but the concept is a bit tired and done (at least to me it is). The fifth bar was the best of the battle. Used both opponents in a nice, clean concept. Sixth bar, again, could've been dope with a bit of proof or at least a general opinion that it is happening. As is, it falls flat. The next bar was real good though, well done. Closer was another great bar. Liked the decay play. Overall, I think you had a couple of weak bars which I wouldn't expect (especially the lesbian scissoring one) but you also had a couple of dope bars I came to expect (dress audition, CJ, dk). This is a tough one to vote on. Both teams came with a couple of weak bars or bars that I thought fell flat for certain reasons. I think, consistently, Dress/Kiki came with solid lines. However, I think Cuba/Point had the strongest punches of the battle. I think the DK and dress audition bars were the two best bars of the battle followed by Dress'/Kiki's hits (battle with his own dudes, Mo Farah bar). As a result, I think Cuba/Point took this battle by a slim margin. Good stuff all around. Again, it was a shame you each couldn't get more lines to work with. V/Point and Cuba -------------

8 bars is really shitty in my opinion...even if its a tag match. I mean damn you need room to fucking breathe a little...up the bar limit...no one can show there true skill being held back so much Ki: I was a big fan of the transitions throughout ya rhyme to make that flow smooth...I really liked your opening line but the one to follow it to complete the bar I wasn't really feeling so much...the dress dropped line was really nice I loved the whole set up for it as well...at first I didn't understand but then I looked up your Mo' Farah bar and it came out pretty ill....Your closer was really nice and flowed smoothly.. nice way to end it DTK: your opening bar was just brutal in my opinion...seriously shit was crazy and set the whole tone for your verse...and the bar that followed was nice and hard hitting as well....The Cuba title defense shit was killer...I liked how you fucking came with your whole verse...closer was nice as well...overall a dope fucking battle verse....very nice DTK especially in a tournament.. PB & Cuba Your flow is especially nice in this...that stood out to me...I also like the way you combined the team as a whole in the way the rhyme scheme is but I also wouldn't concider it better either... I like that noob name play line a lot..that was a clever and smooth as fuck way to flip the whole situation...Even tho you diss L.I you know that ain't gonna change the way I vote on battles..now with that being said...the genitals quivering and lebians scissoring bar was funny as hell to me it was comical... that CJ line was nice and hilarious.. I like the vanishing from view finish...I really do think you could have come with a stronger finish tho...it was creative but you should have ended with more of a personal MVGT KI & DTK very close battle and it could have went either way....but thats my vote...this was so hard to vote on due to the different formats each team used and it was just close as fuck but I just think DTK & Ki edged it out overall as a team.... ------------- |
