Yo, There seems to be alot of peeps I know in da flesh, and online dat have either heard or brought dis album!
For those not knowin, Mobb Deep consist of Havoc and Prodigy, 2 talented emcees from Queensbridge! Their stories and lyrics are based upon livin as gangsters in rough hoods, they also spit bout how to make it through their lifes wiv their gangster image aka drug dealin, shootin and robbin up rivals!
Da LP kicks off wiv da very movin "The Start Of Your Ending" wich has a beutiful beat and good melody dat sticks wid u!
But after a short skit, One of da most god damn illest tracks I have ever discovered from a rap group plays. "Survival Of The Fittest" It has a hauntin kinda church organ melody wiv very hardcore beats! Dis beat also stays in ya noggin!
Practically da whole album iz very hardcore beat dominated, "Temperature Rising" "Up North Trip" and "Trife Life" all have very good beats!
There are also sum wonderful duets on here too! Big Noyd and Ghostface Killer drop sum gud verses! But da 2 dat stand out da most are
"Eye For A Eye" wiv crackin verses from Nas and Raekwon The Chef
"Drink Away The Pain" wiv ill verse from partner in crime Q-Tip
Mobb produce practically all of da tracks on their album, wich show dat they are hard workin!
But u cannot know Mobb Deep wivout hearin da rap classic "Shook Ones PT 2" It has a classic underground old schoolish hardcore beat. If u seen 8 Mile wiv Eminem's final rap battle wiv Popa Glock, u will notice dat the background beats were dat song!
Superb masterpiece album, ill lyrics and voices, and da beats are off da chart!
Anyone have or heard dis?
