We've updated the http://www.lyricalassault.co.uk/battles/rules.htm" rel="nofollow - site battle rules as promised in the January update. Please make sure you familiarise yourself with the new rules, even if you are an experienced battler it's an opportune moment to have a refresh. The main updates are summarised below: 1. If you are in the 1 star battle group you MUST use the house rules when setting up a battle 2. House rules are now best of 5 votes or 3-0 KO 3. House rules also now ALLOW crew votes 4. House rules restrict you to 1 round battles ONLY 5. There is now a 4 week limit for all battles. This means that if the voting is still open a mod will close the battle, the stips of how they will decide are included in the rules. 6. NML has been scrapped. This means if you create a battle and you miss the deadline & your opponent doesn't grant you an extension you get an N. We've made these changes largely to facilitate swift closing of battles so they don't drag out into the end of time in the rare instances where inexperienced battlers made unusual rules. I'd encourage you all to stipulate BEST OF 5 rather than first to 5 in your voting rules. It is very rare that a battle will need 9 separate opinions to determine the outcome that couldn't be done with 5. might be worth mentioning that these rules do not apply to battles that are already in place. these will apply to all battles started after the rule change.

I really don't see an issue with it. As it stands, we've had to disallow many well written and perfectly acceptable votes due to people not realizing crew votes were disallowed. Aside from that, I have yet to come across any crew biased votes in my time in the battlefield, limited as it may be. If you have seen some, or if you see some in the future, I encourage you to report the post and a moderator will check it over.

Tbh I usually find that crew votes are pretty on point due to the fact they know they are going to get additional scrutiny. The mod team aren't going to let votes stand which are unfair, irrespective of that default rule. You can always stipulate no crew votes in your battles. I realise you are in the 1 star group but you can get the other person to post the battle. -------------
