Scorpia...

Snoop Dogg's been rappin' since he was 16. Snoop's real. Gangsta Rap was original when him, Cube, Dre, an' whatnot were doin' it. When Deathrow was fresh, we're talkin' early 90s, gangsta rap was how it was goin' down.

People like 50 Cent are all on Pac's dick not BIG's, so I got no idea what you're talkin' about.

Quote 50: "They like me, I wan' 'em to love me like they loved Pac"

Biggie's influence was more on people like Jigga, in other words: people who may or may not make pop hits but people that bring it lyrical, switch styles, are eclectic.

Quote Jigga: "I'm strong enough to carry Biggie Smalls on my back, an' the whole of BK nigga holla back"

Not the best quote but I happened to listen to that (Moment Of Clarity) today.

Anyway... to the real crux of it...

Biggie... just better lyrics... straight up... More variation, more versatile flow, quality not quantity...

Tupac... better MC... one of the best MCs ever no doubt... but he's jus' DMX really... nothin' much better. The "emotion" got stale, he overdid it, he wrote too much, or rather, put out too much - a lot of it was balls.

Pac had the better MCin' attributes and more "image" which is why he appeals more to people these days, but Biggie was more versatile, and put quality ahead of quantity... nah much contest after that.

an SNOOP, hes shit, i know everyone is entitled to thier opinion but hese really shit. i been rappin since i was sixteen, dun make me gd does it
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<< LOL

snoop just chats bout the same shit day in day out an it bores me to death, i got his first two albulms they cool, but then after that it all dooooooown hill, like jehu said, pac had poetry, which is from tha heart man, big had "style" an "flow", thats not real u have to adapt to that shit

The 50 quote may not mean shit just as a quote, but if you knew rap like you say you do you'd know that Ja Rule, 50 Cent and that lot are all Pac followers, Pac fans. Not BIG ones. Stylistically they take after Pac more than they do BIG. If you can't see that then you need to listen closely.

Snoop Dogg's been rappin' ON RECORDS since he was 16... I'm not gonna deny his shit's gettin' old now, no doubt, and you're right, first two albums it was goin' down. You gotta have respect for him though. Well I do anyway.

Pac had poetry?! lmfao sit down man... Very little of his shit was poetic, He just tried to make it sound poetic. He ain't no more poetic than DMX is, sorry. Everyone has this false notion that Pac's like Mr. Poetic Rap. Mr. Deep Rap. Mr. Straight From The Heart Rap.

A lot of it was the same shit over and over. A lot of it was depressingly simple and bland.

yeah ok, pac does get followed by tha ja an 50s, but thats cause hes so gud,  an dun get me wrong, i gt respect fo snoop, hell if it werent fo him dre wud neva hav made a comeback so em wud not have had such a big influence on tha game so 50 wud neva have been made famous an den 50 made llyod banks, so i got mad respect fo snoop, hes just same shit, different day, an as fo big, dun get me wrong, hes in ma top 5 fave artists of ALL time, im jus sayin pac had a bigger influence on tha game, an pac DID have poetry, did usee tha docu on him wen he got killed? tha teacher at his school give all his "book o rhymes" to tha press, mad skills in dem uno, an the rose that grew....... it all peotic, just not in a way that u may find normal.

I didn't say Pac wasn't poetic, but his poetic elements were overrated and blown out of proportion. And it's weird how you made that list of influences boil down to Lloyd Banks, another one hugely overrated...

Um... this is gonna go on forever... Orion, Pac put out a BOOK of poetry... he was a poet. I mentioned that his shit is too much like 50 Cent before, cause too many of his songs were that bock/hood/homies/kill you shit cause he was so gangsta. Big was good, pac was good, let it go, they're both dead. They're the past... learn from the past, not dwell on it.

Worry about the future. I am the future. You, who is reading this now... you are the future... focus on that.

Ima have to come and clear this shit up... They were BOTH better.. at different things, thats all there is to it

Flow - Big
Multisyllables - Pac
Emotion - Pac
Meta's - Big
Freestylin - Big
Intelligence - Pac

I know ull argue bout the multi's goin to Pac.. so let me show examples...

BIG

If I did, ain't no problem to get the gat
Where the true players at?
Throw your Rollies in the sky
Wave em side to side and keep your hands high
While I give your girl the eye, player please
Lyrically, niggaz see, B.I.G.

Pac

They tell me not to roll with my glock
So now I gotta throw away
Floatin in the black Benz, tryin to do a show a day
They wonder how I live, with five shots
Niggaz is hard to kill, on my block
Schemes for currency and doe related
Affiliated with the hustlers, so we made it

need anymore examples?

AND Biggies rhymes were fuckin elementary, anyone could do that..

and someone said somethin about Pac openin his mouth and Big not sayin shit.. is that supposed to be good?? around here if someone sayin they gonna kill u and sayin they fucked ur wife and took pictures wit ur wife, u better ryde on their ass or u get no respect. So in my eyes Biggies was a punk, he let Pac ryde on him and sat back and let it happen cuz he was SCARED, I dont care if u aint ready to admit it, Big was scared, he knew Suge had Pac's back and Big was scared, he said it himself. Pac talkin all that shit was him bein REAL.  Thats why I think Big was never involved in any of the shit he rapped about cuz if u from the streets, u aint gonna take no shit like that, and Biggie took it.  In my opinion, Pac had WAAY more talent than Biggie could ever dream of, the only thing Biggie had him on was the 3 things mentioned above, he NEVER could get as deep as Pac, and Pac made a double album in 2 weeks and he was doin movies and all that shit.  I heard some stories and Big was a bitch.  I remember hearin about 2 times when Biggie had guns and let ppl take the blame for him. he had no backbone, he was soft.  I didnt forget about the comment about look at Pac's followers, and that they like Pac more than Biggie, NO SHIT, thats cuz Pac got into their minds and made them believe what he was doin was right.  Why u think Pac has more fans than Big?? It's because ppl recognize real, and the shit Pac was doin made alot of ppl realize Big wasnt shit, dont get me wrong I liek some of Biggies shit but alot of it is just garbage. examples...

I'm shootin babies, no ifs ands or maybes
Hit mummy in the tummy if the hooker plays a dummy
Slit the wrist of little sis
After she sucked the dick, I stabbed her brother with the icepick
because he wanted me to fuck him from the back
but Smalls don't get down like that
Got your father hidin in a room; fucked him with the broom
Slit him down the back and threw salt in the wound

Most of yall probly dont even know Pac was also gettin into producin, he used to play the piano all the time and come up wit melodies for his songs, he even made the beat for Bomb First and had some producers add shit to it, so wit all that said.. Pac was far more talented than BIG.  If u read all this Ive wasted all this time typin, then u should understand..

Dont forget, Pac was trainin Big before he was signed to Bad Boy...HAHAHAHAHA kiss my ass frank

and Jehu ur on some revolutionary shit, "u are the future, focus on urself" lol

glad u see it my way..

well, wen pun was 5 years old, thats right, just five he broke his leg ok, then years later wen he was workin in a factory or summink, he contacted tha lawyer that was dealin wiv tha case, (i dun know y) and found out that he had a half a mill settlement case headin his way! he formed a group wiv triple seis an cuban link an was then known as moon dog, or big moon dog, an he was only able to do this because of tha settlement money he shud have got wen he was FIVE!! then a few years later in 95 he was in tha bronx in his recordin studio wen one of fat joes enterage was walkin by, wen the guy enquired as to who it was, worried that joe wudnt like pun for ANY reason, he lied an said it was a friend, when joe asked to hear tha "friend" at a later date, who turned up but big pun - still known as big moon dog. so i just think that he used tha wrong methods to get in tha game, an if it werent for some dude breakin his leg wen he was FIIIVVEEEE he wudnt have had a sucsessful career,

If it wasn't for drugs business in comptom, easy E would've never had the money to start the label with NWA in it. There would've been no Dre, no Em, no 50, no Gay unit. There woulda been no death row and pac wouldn'tve been so big. neither would snoop. Shit, if someone broke my leg, I'd sue their balls off if it could get me a recording studio, and i'd do the same shit pun did, in the same fucking way. There are worse ways to get money. Drugs - bad. Lawsuit - lycky, but good. Working for it - good.

Yes, pun was lucky... but if you can tell me with a straight face that luck does not play a major role in "making it" in music, you're wrong, misled and stupid. There are many great MC's with no deals... there are people who were only lucky enough to ghostwrite for other people just because they want to get out there, and unfortunately, don't get their chance.

Alchemist is one of the hottest producers in the game right now... and he had money BEFORE he ever made music. Does that make him a fraud?

Tell me, scorpia...

What's the "right" way?

no mani agree with you, u do need a lucky "break" - excuse tha "pun" lol... but his leg was broken wen he was five, so y did they not claim then or sue then?? wen he was 5 im sure his parents wudav spent it for them not knowing he had a musica; talents, like i was run over wen i was 6, i cud sue them now (i dont need to lol) to get me some money but i just feel that wud be wrong, if he earned tha money an got a studio an shit, well done, like u say, there are good rappers/emcees out there with no deals an they have to work hard to get somewhere, but pun got it handed to him on a plate!!

J-QWON... 17... That's having it handed in a plate.

And who's to say Pun never worked hard?

Nobody ever earns the money to get a studio unless they're in drugs or already rich, cause a studio costs way more money than you think it does. If that was the only way he could afford a sudio, why not use it to his advantage? trust me... some people in NY would give head to earn a record deal. Pun just wanted to make music... the deal came to him.

It's hard to determine the better of the two. They both had mad tight rhymes and amazing flow, but different styles. I personally feel that pac was better but thats because of the huge impact he had on the game and the culture. Biggie was one of the best ever, no doubt, but the only reason he transcended the game was his beef with pac.

And I agree with shadow: Big L is way too underrated.

....This is a hard one...I'd say, with skill, Biggie was the most ahead of his time. No doubt, he took the game by storm wit skills...

But, Pac was alot more influential and real

Best rapper: Biggie
Most Influential: Pac,
and thass how i see it...i cant compare the two within the same category
