Exec decision...Dizzle drops into Sandstorm league but won't be confirmed until he says so. I can run that bottom league with 2 or 3 & whoever wins will rotate into the Tornado league. Just trying to get a hold of Endeavour to see if he can drop in a week's time if I assign him a battle. -------------

Endeavour has confirmed...I'll put you in the Sandstorm league Keeks. We had the prelim's so want to try and keep those who started off and won their place their spot in the top league. Winners and losers will rotate into the two league's. I will be setting battles up tonight so unless Dizzle confirms (or someone bids to take his spot) then I'll have to be a bit more creative on the bottom league. If there's even more interest I will think about creating a third division over time. -------------

So sticking with the TWIST (and turns)...those in the sandstorm league have TWO battles, but they have an extended two weeks to drop. Whoever is top after week 2 will be promoted into the TORNADO league. Losers from first week of the TORNADO league will battle to determine who drops into SANDSTORM league. -------------

Yes, but I'll put you into a third division with Stupendous (or whatever his name is, he PM'd me) plus anyone who signs up in the interim as a) I've already setup the battles, b) you no showed in the prelims More generally, I will post up later in the week the rules. It's pretty much, you will battle & get points for wins/KO's and lose points for no shows. I may also issue TWISTS which will give opportunities for bonus points. -------------

I'll take that as a sign out from you Axy!! Alice, Sky has just said he can't drop on the battle with Sky...do you want to step in and take his place? You can have the same 2 week deadline There are bonus points available for dropping sooner. Generally, I'm happy for people to sign in/out of this. All I'm really doing is giving people interesting topical battles if people want them. Obviously there are penalties if you sign out after a battle is set. But that's up to you guys to manage. -------------

updating the sign up sheets doesn't happen very often so don't necessarily go by them exactly, more of guidelines. if you go take a look in the battlefield you'll see there are multiple topical twists going on at the same time. if you'd like to speed up the process of those getting wrapped up, feel free to go vote on them. -------------  |

It moves as slowly or quickly as the members decide, people don't have to take the full deadline they're given & I even put bonus points on the table for people who dropped quicker. I will put voting bonus points on the table next time around to encourage faster voting. You will get a battle, you made like 3 posts asking to get involved and made 1 vote...the Ridley one should've been locked, yes, but you may have noticed that I've been doing a whole bunch of other stuff...I don't get paid to do this you know, and I kind of trust when you see the bottom post as Ridley conceding then it's obvious the battle is done. -------------

There's a wider back story, but the idea is that over time the cream will rise to the top & get promoted. Those who struggle at the higher standards will drop down into the lower league(s). This will mean people will be in a league which gives them competitive battles with evenly matched people. Because it's full of twists (clues in the name) I will occasionally mix it up so people aren't ALWAYS battling the same people. Also, the idea would be if you're in the top league you'd get preferable sign in status to any tourney or Title challenges and suchlike. As you've proven yourself to be a highly competitive topical battler. All that said, it's run on a sign in / sign out basis so that it's only people who are currently interested in topical battles. I have been running it as a 2 week drop deadline. So by time voting closes you're looking at roughly one verse a month which isn't a massive commitment. -------------

Appreciate it Spume...yeah, it makes it a bit more fun to run to throw the twists in to fuck with people. Otherwise it's just an admin task!! It didn't quite work out how I originally thought it would but I saw loads of interest in OM King and Rutts sign in/sign out regular battle format working in the 1-2 punch league and kind of meshed the two things together. Seems to work a bit slicker than the "Open call out" Ultimately the objective is to try and encourage topical battles for those who are interested in them. -------------

here is the point system for it http://www.lyricalassault.co.uk/forum/topical-twist-league-table_topic43998.html" rel="nofollow - Topical Twist League Table and its exactly what it sounds like. depending on what division you are in (which would be the bottom of the totem pole) you get matched with someone in that division and then given a topic to write about. winner is awarded bonus points. eventually you phase out of league into better one. point is after you've gone a few rounds you'll wind up in the league where the people's skill set is closer to yours, so you don't write against someone that sucks, or someone that is godlike and you suck.

Thanks LP... Yeah the idea is it's a league that you can sign in/out of on a weekly basis. The dual league structure idea is that over time the leagues will have writers of same standard in so you consistently get even match ups. I also do random "twists" for my enjoyment to mess with you & to mix it up so you don't always battle the same people. -------------

So I am planning to set up battles for this tomorrow. Plan is to squeeze one more round in before Identity Crisis II tourney kicks off. Will then consult with people about whether they want to pause on the league while that's going on or whether they can cope with having to write two topical verses at once. Giving you this window of opportunity to sign-out. im getting older and honestly dont know how much longer ill be doing anything of this. plus outside factors like my parents fading health and real world matters that comes along with that. i havent gone as far in audio as i would have liked too, and i really want to put a good amount of effort into making some good quality tracks and having a mix tape that i can call my own by years end. I feel as part of natural progression, everything that we learn from text should be transferred to audio at some point, and i need to make that happen while the opportunity is there then i will stop, re-access, and figure out the next chapter from that point

I hear what you're saying man, totally understandable. For everyone else I'm going to ASSUME you are signed out unless you SIGN BACK IN. That's due to the break we've had for Identity Crisis. If there's a very small number of people who sign in again before the end of IC2 then I will just end the first season and we can start season 2. That would be a shame as I had a couple more twists up my sleeve!! -------------

I'm gonna leave this a week and then put a nail in the first season. I had wanted to run a play-off...so you'd have divisional champs and then an overall winner. Shame we had IC2 land in the middle. That's life I suppose. I've had a couple of people put their hands up to run season 2 which is greatly appreciated. I have one in mind, but I'm sure he'd welcome support.
