People of LA... Before my sudden and unavoidable departure, the man himself, Mr Owen Ice Cuba C, passed me the torch of the Topical Twist League ... and since coming back to find LA's activity at an all time low, I'm gonna use that torch to light this place the fuck up! Crazy right? When we've hardly even got the bare minimum for a single text battle! Well that may be so ... but fuck it, what have we got to lose? (5. That's 5 people.) Cos I've been watching you LA, and I see you lurk. You're sad that your favourite website is not as busy as you'd like it to be, and I feel your pain brother, truly I do ... (2 to battle and 3 to vote, trust me it's 5.) And I know you won't give up. You'll keep checking. And each time you'll wipe away a tear with the tissue you use for your second favourite website ... then silently log off again and wait for the situation to fix itself. (Yes 7 if the voting goes to the wire, but I did say bare minimum) But there is something you else you can do! And that is virtually throw your virtual name into the virtual hat for TOPICAL TWIST 2.0 (Yes that's assuming it's best of 5 ... look just forget it, it's not important) What was Topical Twist? Put Simply. A way for anyone to get a random writing task whenever they fancied one without the fuckery of the Call Out thread, or having to come up with a topic. But with points, lots and lots of lovely points! What's different now? Oh, you mean Topical Twist 2.0 aka the No "No-Show" Show? Well it's quite simple - you just need to PM me or email me ... a) your topic ideas for others (you will never be given one of your own) b) requests for matchups whenever you want them (no signing in & out) c) your verses when they are ready and I will literally take care of the rest. That sounds awesome! ... but remind me again why it is? Cos it's completely no-show proof!!! You send me your verse and then you forget about it. If your opponent doesn't do the same, I'll send the topic to someone else ... so it may take a month or 3, but it'll go down eventually.
Yadda yadda ... you said something about points? Yes Points for submitting a topic that gets used Points for submitting a verse Points for accepted votes Points for winning Points for other things I haven't thought of yet OK I'm in, but can it really work? I really don't see why not. It's just 1 topic suggestion and 2 matchup requests, and we've made a start. It may be slow at first, but I'm not going anywhere. Had considered this, and yeah why not. Drop a verse in this and you'll get your points from before transferred over. That type of thing requires a special board OR the battlefield to have that applied across every battle. Both of those options require Scotty to do some magic in the background. We had talked about implementing the latter so that could be a viable option. -------------
