Here lays a tree, its seen summer heat and wintery days Since fifteen B.c its been through the winds whispering ways Witnessing ignorance and Newtons apple to nuclear fusion booming cities turn to ruins n people consumed by confusion tuned in into radio waves and watched the destruction of music she saw the governments illusion and ruthless reigns of terror watched the splitting of an atomic nucleus cause great pain n fear Hitlers rise to fame and the torture of Jews with delusions of grandeur seen pear shaped babes rise and fall like a fashion wave tiding over Listened to Sam Cook on a dock in the bay with no disclosure Tuned in to Reagan take the stakes "Tear down this wall" bulldozers Remembers Bush numero uno start a war in the gulf nd O.J in a white bronco Running from the law while the glove didnt fit like a Tyson's Two/Three COMBO Grunge fell off and Kurt took a shotty to his dome while Kourtney's not home This Tree witnessed Pac's throne drop while he took six shots n Vegas tuned in to see Clinton banging bitches N when we learned Aids was contagious Belly lighting blunts up right before Y2K hit MJ took a break but became a warrior? The fuck is this hiatus Aint it a bitch? Music was loved and pop culture was shameless Now were stuck with the Kardashians and a generation of kids that aint shit They bump Kanye and think the Future is an artist, these kids are retarded Girls used to be innocent but now they are fucking hard as bricks Were still carpet bombing the middle east like a Rocket Harden Fuckboys wearing tight jeans and polos under their cardigans The generation is uncharted, the soils of humanity still seems to thrive Ask the Tree of Life, shes been through more shit and seems to survive Edited by daydizzle89 - 29 March 2016 at 4:18pm |

"Here lays a tree, its seen summer heat and wintery days
Since fifteen B.c its been through the winds whispering ways" ^Damn, that was pretty fuckin dope! I love the intro! It reads like the beginning of an epic! Great Start! "Witnessing ignorance and Newtons apple to nuclear fusion booming cities turn to ruins n people consumed by confusion tuned in into radio waves and watched the destruction of music she saw the governments illusion and ruthless reigns of terror watched the splitting of an atomic nucleus cause great pain n fear" ^I'm not really feelin' "terror" and "fear" as a tandem. The flow seems both shaky and incomplete there. The rest of the passage however was pretty solid tho. And I thought the Newton line was delivered nicely. "Hitlers rise to fame and the torture of Jews with delusions of grandeur seen pear shaped babes rise and fall like a fashion wave tiding over Listened to Sam Cook on a dock in the bay with no disclosure Tuned in to Reagan take the stakes "Tear down this wall" bulldozers" ^Sam Cooke? I think you meant Otis Redding. In any case, I truly dug the concepts and wordplay in the bars above. Really slick stuff Dizz. Also, I like how you've illustrated the passage of time through pop culture references. Again, slick stuff man. "Remembers Bush numero uno start a war in the gulf nd O.J in a white bronco Running from the law while the glove didnt fit like a Tyson's Two/Three COMBO Grunge fell off and Kurt took a shotty to his dome while Kourtney's not home This Tree witnessed Pac's throne drop while he took six shots n Vegas tuned in to see Clinton banging bitches N when we learned Aids was contagious" ^Chronologically speaking the Bush and Aids line should switch order. Lyrically tho this part was dope. Interesting event choices, but effective selections nonetheless. "Belly lighting blunts up right before Y2K hit MJ took a break but became a warrior? The fuck is this hiatus Aint it a bitch? Music was loved and pop culture was shameless Now were stuck with the Kardashians and a generation of kids that aint shit" ^A Warrior? Dude, MJ came back and played for the Wizards. LOL. Anyway, The Belly line I liked. Nostalgic and dope. And the last three bars seem to have some perspective I can agree with. Good stuff. Dizz "They bump Kanye and think the Future is an artist, these kids are retarded Girls used to be innocent but now they are fucking hard as bricks Were still carpet bombing the middle east like a Rocket Harden Fuckboys wearing tight jeans and polos under their cardigans The generation is uncharted, the soils of humanity still seems to thrive Ask the Tree of Life, shes been through more shit and seems to survive" ^"The Tree of Life"...hmmm...pretty cool. I thought about using that as a concept as well. It's Nice to read someone else do tho. I though this part in particular was a pretty solid outro. --------------------------- Final verdict: Overall, I thought this was a really fun and entertaining verse. It had a few gems in it and should be a strong contender for KOM honors. Nice job Dizzy Peace... |
