News & Announcements: New Classics Nomination Criteria

As promised in the January update we've launched a new set of criteria for classics nomination, please take a moment to review and then head over to LA Magazine to submit your nominations.

With a break with LA's past tradition we WILL allow you to nominate your own work, but be aware that we will probably not look favourably upon those who just seek to see their own work recognised.

I think it might be a good idea if there was an HOF or Classics nomination thread stickied at the top of forums like the Audio Mic, Open Mic, and Battlefield.

By doing this it allows members to submit pieces they think fit the criteria on a monthly basis. Then at the end of each month a panel of mods (I assume) can vote which pieces (if any at all) deserves induction.

Because as of late their have been a few pieces I feel deserve at least a nod, but since there seems to be no easily way to find a thread to do this, it appears the thought doesn't even register in the heads of most members.

Consequently, there may have been (and will continue to be) a lot of really great pieces that fall to the 2nd page and slowly sip into the void of oblivion.

P.S. Just so you know we probably wouldn't induct verses on a monthly basis, we've talked as a mod team about making it more special so we only do 2 at a time on a maximum quarterly basis. That hasn't been decided yet, but point being we want to make it difficult to obtain the status and something truly special.
