So Kendrick Lamar's album dropped today.
Anyone cop it? Anyone listened to it? I put it on my spotify this morning and listened to it on the train home. It's a very good album, second half picks up a lot, it gets real sick. If you ain't heard the last track and what follows it, then do it now. It's fucking weird. Thoughts? Edited by Arthur - 16 March 2015 at 7:54pm |

Yeah, I gave it listened & I noticed too how the second half of it really picks up & that's the part of the album I really like the most. Hood Politics, The Blacker The Berry, How Much A Dollar Cost & Complexion are my favorite tracks on the album.

Yeah I agree, I really like the first song too, it has a slight g-funk sound to it.

I don't listen to Lamar but apparently it's been dropped from iTunes.

I listened to the whole album day 1, and it was crazy. I can't even pick a favorite song they were all meaningful and put together well. Easily best album of 2015

Whole album is dope, reflects our world as we as rappers evolve into butterflies from the caterpillar ghettoes of the world real well I reckon and the struggles faced in doing so. I like how the album with that Tupac track and overall helps instil a feeling of rebellion against the system like how it refers to 1831 in USA when Nat Turner had a blacks revolution in the last track on 'Mortal Man' ft. that interview with Tupac and how he used music to stir up the slaves to take over for a short time in early colonial America. The track 'King Kunta' got a dope funk to it, and the way the themes of the album course through the tracks ties it all together well with themes of inequality and revolution and overcoming obstacles with focus. It's highest selling hip hop album of all time too I think I read somewhere even though it came out as recently as it did, it's already categorically a classic that will probably get critical acclaim. TPAB is on high rotation over these ways whether ghostwritten or not.
