Soundcloud followed the business model of DMusic and thats why they are the predicament they are in. They stalled far too long on offering a subscription, and from the jump, they should have scaled back size limits and functionality to free users. Now, if you tried to scale back functionality and force a subscription fee, people will just delete their accounts and host their music elsewhere. a site like Soundclick really could make a huge rebound if they were smart enough to take advantage of sc's imminent downfall. regardless, if soundcloud shuts down . . . . ill just host all my audios on Youtube and call it a day

anyone use bandcamp? they have more stats than sc for free users, they allow people to download in any format as long as you upload a .wav
only issue i see is an ugly interface especially if it's just one track, pretty much have to multi-track releases...which is why I do "issues" of 4 - 6 songs
