I have a pair. Im really happy with the sound quality. I have had three pairs so far and I gotta say that they never fail to bring quality sound. They are great for dubstep and hiphop music. I have tried other brands that were more expensive and less expensive and these still have the bass and trebs I am looking for. I have the Solo's

Doesn't DRE write it on the cover "Some headphones cannot handle the treble and bass and therefore reduce the quality. We artists work hard everyday at the studio to make inspiring music. With this equipment you can listen to your favourite artist and his hard work" - Dr Dre I have it.I like it. |

They are good no doubt, but u can get just as good for a similiar price. They do handle the bass though particularly well.

Beats are like any massive celeb spear headed product, it's about the name,. you're paying far more for a lower quality product, if you're willing to dump $300-$400 into headphones for that, you may as well jump to the 600-800 range and hit up Audeze's newest addition to the family.
https://www.audeze.com/products/el-8-collection/el-8-open-back That being said there are a lot of options when it comes to good quality headphones, I'd suggest checking out the Hi-Fi forums head phone buyers guide for the best in class headphones for each price range, and what they are specifically good at and lacking in. The only reason beats handle bass as well as they do is they have a built in bass boost and amplifier which is why they take batteries on top of the power draw from the audio cable. You can buy external amplifiers at the $100 range that will make $100-$150 head phones put Beats to fucking shame. |

I've had both a pair of sennheiser (decent) and dre (pros black style) and literally the beats pro was so much better in terms of comfort etc.
EDIT: For clarification I still own the beats.

I know it's overpriced but I found a good deal on amazon of a legitimate re-seller of them who somehow found a way to sell at discount of like $75 so I took it.

way overpriced. I remember getting a pair of these and selling it to my friend the next day. With that money i invested in a pair of sennheisers, forgot the model number but the comfort/sound quality were 5 x better than beats. Was hearing instruments i never heard before in the background of songs and was happy i made the right choice, beats is alright but i wouldn't recommend it for a real audiohead
