Open Mic: Hurt

Sometimes I wonder if my dreams will ever be reality

If there's a blade to take dark thoughts and sever these but magically

If I'll escape from a however bleak mortality

If I would manage to maintain my Never Cheat mentality

Ever weak, I realize I better seek vitality

I need my space like what homeless beggars seek emphatically

Sit on a laptop typing letter keys erratically

And hope for release or verses written cleverly and happily

But then again...

I'm just another dude that's lost

All my brilliance isn't shit when I lose the gloss

Ability cancelled out when I deduce the cost

Of questioning authority no matter who's the boss

No rock and roll, only blues comes off

No rolling stone so I've gathered different hues of moss

Bring no alibi or reason, no excuse across

A martyr without a cause has the hugest cross

But...

I don't need religion, take the rosary back

Don't worry about my heart, it's supposed to be black

I was a kid with bright future that would grow to be whack

I saw it crashing like a glacier, still too slow to react

Tried to find my way but found the road to be cracked

Tried to write rhymes only for my flow to be jacked

And if I pushed it all inside then you would notice me snap

I'm hurt, and you'd have to see that something I wrote to see that...
