this is a tuff battle to call...but here goes
ikon- the opener was alright, not hard-hitting; 2nd line was pretty cool, u didn't try and play weezy lines; 3rd bar- i can't see how the black mark on the face is a punch (but maybe its just me); 4th bar was again alright not brilliant; 5th- i didn't like the way you finished the bar, made me think like u were waiting to say something more; closer was pretty cool
mc- openers ok, but i can't see the reference between the game and ikon; 2nd bar's alright, but thats cuz it sounds good. the thing wit that bar is that it can only understood by UK natives and ikon is a yank i think; 3rd bar was dope, the way used the wordplay; 4th bar was good personal; 5th bar is not clear cuz i hav to look at the expo to know that u talkin about cricket- so not a good bar; closer wasn't bad
GMV WOODS, despite the fact he's flow lacked. MC had better personal punches.the thing wit ikon is that he referred to stuff that didn't have much to do with him (ie henry, mick n rat, etc). Also, i know i'm not in a position to say a near vet's verse were bad, but they were. both didn't bring much personals or proper punches to the battle

Opener was really good, great way to start off...Birdman punch was fuckin crazy, incredible line, black eye was pretty cool...mickey mouse missed, to me...the last two were very nice though, extremely well worded...overall, another very good verse, although the mickey mouse bar took away from it a bit Woods Opener was pretty cool, technically sound, but nothing that made me go crazy...sutcliffe was a really funny idea but i didnt like how the wordplay was formulated, ive explained to you already...con-fuse, same thing...con-fused would have been better, so it seems you went for play over meaning, which took away from it a bit...great idea though...hide and seek was ill, great bar...overshadowed was okay, nothing special...con air was a nother very good one, good way to end it Overall, very good battle, but woods had a few wording problems which prevented me being able to vote for him as kon kept it solid and funny throughout...good verses by both tho v. Ikon |

Ikon- Opener was a strong one, had a personal in the setup and a strong punch..2nd bar was dope though first two punches used the same personal in a sense and were about Weezy but still they were nice and were a great way to open it up..3rd bar nice not on par with that 2nd bar but still a cool hit...4th bar i wasn't feeling mainly cause i wouldn't have understood it unless you gave an expo which was pretty long and stretched so i thought it was just a bad bar..5th bar picked it up and it was dope second best bar of your verse(best bar was the wishing he was bird)..And closer was a nice strong finish..Overall- Your verse started off nice and finished nice but you had one bar in the middle of it that was very bad compared to the rest of the verse..Nonetheless, nice verse, had some humour and dope bars... McWoods- Opener was nice but didn't come off as big as maybe you expected, still nice tho..2nd bar was such a dope concept but it needed more work because it works in the sense of "Battle One Eyed Kon" but it doesn't make grammatical sense in "Battle Won Ikon" and the play has to work both ways to be dope IMO..but damn that idea was nice thought it could've been a crazy punch..3rd bar is very similar to the second bar feed, it wasn't worded nicely enough, even making it con-fused wouldn't fix it perfectly yet but it was another dope idea..4th bar WAS dope, no problems with anything there lol..5th bar was a nice idea and a nice punch..Closer was dope too...So, your verse started out with a nice little opener, had two bars in question, and then had 3 strong bars after it..You had a nice verse, great ideas but not all of them were turned into the punches they could've beenOverall- It was an extremelly close battle, but both had nice bars throughout with Ikon having one bar i thought was bad while Woods had pretty much two i thought weren't completed the best way with the wording..If he could've worderd it/worked it differently then you could've taken this battle since all his other bars were nice but they turned out to be nice concepts rather than nice bars so Ikon takes this...Plus Kon brought lots of personals to this battle as Woods brought nameplays...Oh yeah, and Woods your pm box was full and i had a big typed out message to send you describing even more in detail why those 2 plays weren't worked nicely enough IMO but alas, it didn't send since ya need to empty it so if ya want, pm me if ya got a problem or want more explanation i took a lot more time than i thought with this vote anyway...

I liked all the personals you had, the line about wantin to be bird was funny too. Your opener and your closer were your strongest punches in my opinion. Flow was on point, I thought the Mark Henry punch was dope, took me a second to get it though. Other than that you had some nice punches in there, and no filler really. You had a lot of good strong personals in there too, which I thought really helped. Mcwoods Opener was a decent punch, flow was off though, so it took away from it a bit. Next bar I got what you were saying, I just felt you didn't deliver it well enough to make it hit. The next 2 bars had the same issue, good ideas going on, just need to fix up your wording in em and they'd have been dope. 4th bar was dope, easily your best punch, and you ended with another 2 good bars. Maybe it's just me though, but I think your flow is off a lot, since the syllable counts aren't similar a lot of your bars. Again, might just be though. Tough battle to call, a lot of dope punches from both sides, but I'm gonna have to go with Ikon. It would've been a little bit harder to call, but Woods you had those two bars that were kinda sub par. |
