   Thanks to everyone who dropped on the first instalment of the Word Drop...we had a whole load of entries, many more than I imagined & most of which were up within a few days of the challenge being issued. It's great to see people getting involved with the challenges we put out there as it encourages us to continue to try more things...
That being said, there has to be at least one winner & this month I've decided to split the awards between two entries. So, without further ado:

Word Drop of the month #1 is...

Venomonology

The reason I went for Poem Power by Ven was really the understated way he handled the vocab. I think it's easier to cobble 10 words into your verse and not really make it feel cohesive, but a different matter entirely to weave them all in and making it look easy. Which everyone who entered knows, it really isn't all that easy! In particular I really liked the image he created with the rickshaws riding off into sunsets, that just stood out to me as someone who pushed himself to go beyond the constraints of the 10 words and try and write something of substance. So that's in the end why I went with Ven. Congratulations!!

In a really strong verse, I really liked this combo from Rids...it's just a really sharp punchline & I appreciated his use of wordplay to get around the limitations the words themselves put on him. I liked the way he played on kerflooey as well to make it seem a bit lurid, as is often the case wit Rids, it was a bit raw around the edges but I felt this one had enough bang for it's buck to make it stand out amongst the competition.
