I am bringing back the Hall of Fame awards one last time. But fair warning, if it doesn't get the community participation to sustain it, then the pages will be removed and it will never return again. Everyone bangs on about how it 'boosts activity' - well It is up to you, the community, to keep it alive.

CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES

This is not about the man, this is about the work. This is about the best Open Mic produced in the relevant month.

The consistency or elevation of the author can be a factor in your decision, but it should not be main factor. The work it's self should stand out on it's own merits.

RULES FOR VOTING/POSTING
  • All votes must be accompanied by an explanation (can be short)
  • Reasons for voting must be relevant
  • Voters must have been reasonably active during the month
  • You can't vote for yourself
  • No bitching, if so you just ruin your chances of inclusion

There was some awesome drops last month, some honorable mentions: Scotty - Under The  Bridge,  Ransom - Unsealed Psychologist Files Part 1, iLL ScriptureZ - The Return, CHAIN - Ashtrays & Coasters (Feat HG) and The Law - Rampage 2 but one stood out for me, one Open Mic was just that little bit better imo....

Not sure if my vote will be counted, since i only joined this month. But i have been active ever since. So if you choose too remove my vote, I understand. But the advantage of being a noob, i dont know anyone very well, so my vote is purely for lyrics, not the lyricist.

My vote goes too: 

The Law - Down the Rabbit Hole

Reasons:

Down The Rabbit Hole and Rampage 2, there were absolutely killers, particularly Down The Rabbit Hole. IMO Law should win this outright, some of the dopest shit I ever read. And that aint licking his ass, I never spoke too the guy, but hes tight as fuck, lyrically. The imagery in DTRH is unquestionably spot on, as is the flow. The first verse blows you away, you feel like your there. And for that reason I believe Law's Down the Rabbit Hole should be OM of the Month.

There are like many OMs who can fall under this category but If I had to choose a single OM which stands out the most I vote - Rampage 2 by Law. That shit is simply hilarious

Ima vote tonight or tomorrow...I just want people to realize that there is more open mics for the month of Feb.  than on page one.  I feel people are just being lazy with only looking at the more recent drops and not doing the research on the previous pages.  Look back a little bit.  Do the time if you are gonna cast a vote.  This is not directed at anyone in particular but I have seen this being a problem last month and in the past in general.

Rampage 2 was cool. I liked how law addressed everyone but Exo and chainz brought fire with war mongars. Dope collab even at the time with some personal beef between two they came with it.

this was tough

I really liked HG's ashtrays and coasters.  Rampage 2 was heavy as was ill scriptz return piece.  I'm gonna go with ill Scripts return piece.  Although I didnt agree with some of it the writing was on point and I felt the build up to it was big and he delivered.

I think this should of been in the form of a poll including the highest rated drops of last month with the option to nominate one that was left off... would of been easier seeing as many don't have the patience to go back thru the forum and look for the one that stood out... maybe even sum kinda way to nominate oms during the month to make this easier... that said, I won't be voting this one or March cause I haven't really been feeding drops with this in mind... I'll try and be more conscious of this in the future so I can participate in this tho

Know there's not a lot of votes in here, but don't think I've read enough of the drops in Feb to give a fair vote. Like I could say Rampage 2 because it was a dope drop but it's one of like 2/3 I read from Feb.

Could we bring back the nominations? It used to be like "options 1-5 and other"...know that makes it a bit narrower but if there really is a great OM that's been missed it usually does collect a nomination.

If there were some nominations then I could go away and feel like I could vote fairly by quickly reading those nominations. Not trying to be a cunt, just saying would encourage more votes I think.

I didn't really want to go to the trouble of finding threads for a poll as these things rarely get votes as it is. So basically my plan was to put as much effort into it as the community does.

If voting improves, I will look at improving my side of things. Though I will hopefully have a filter setup so I can limit Open Mic to just one month with a specially crafted link.

I was feelin' Rampage 2, nice lengthy drop that was very relentless and unapologetic... those are the type of OMs that grab my attention, so Rampage 2 by Law gmv..
