Open Mic: Super Bowl Punday

I wrote this Sunday afternoon because it was the anniversary of the deaths of the two most underrated artists in their field, especially because of their influence. I was gonna write more, or write better, but that's what came out of 5 minutes of typing on my iPod.

Super Bowl Punday, run plays, some say
"He wasn't the best" and "there's only one Jay"
But like me, he wasn't just round, but well rounded
Sad that it's been ten years since his bell sounded
Fell sound asleep, heart gave out
obese dude with a flow, broke apart they doubts
Indelible, incredibe, every rapper was edible
Medical professionalism, flow unforgettable
Don't trip on how short his rap timeline is
Big pun's the reason why I rhyme like this
Syllables of rhymes, unkillable design
Book meant for class, I would fill it full of lines
And who can forget that this day's killa
When a day just like this we lost jay dilla
Producer that inspired beats like pun did rhymes
His mother by his deathbed, her son did fine
Now the talent lost in death is pittied a lot
Because hip hop has lost way more than just biggie and pac
Small towns dance to it, whole cities have rocked

nice drop Jehu.... i really felt where you was goin wit this and ya prolly wit more time and effort it mighta been better but sometimes its what comes naturally thats the best and this is a good example of that.
