^ Word barely anyone has mentioned Jehst, Klashnekoff,
Phi Life Cypher, Task Force, Skitz etc... if you havent heard any of
that you're missing the whole UK hip hop scene...
And they do gigs n stuff.. saw a big UK hip hop show at Rawganics recently.. Anyways.. even though the UK has some good stuff, it's still catching up.. while in the US they have crappy commercial stuff like G-Unit and Ja Rule, there's major talent in the underground scene... Aesop Rock, Vast Aire, Supernat, Slug, Copywrite... so I voted for USA. |

i didnt think the UK had hip hop artists really
i thought UK had "garage" liek so solid and shit wots his name that dead annoyin guy anyway i cant stand garage and plus rap doesnt suit uk, since we dont have lil Gs runnin round with guns pimpin hoes in the ghetto and all that shit eg aclipz rappin about it all as if hes in G-Unit but hes from wales - just tends to ruinthe affect (nuttin against aclipz - just doesnt suit the uk) |

The UK does have some rough areas.. they're generally up North or in London though lol.
But there's loads of good hip hop artists, not just sucky garage. And who says hip hop just has to be about guns, pimpin hoes and stuff? Thats usually just the wack shit. |

i live in manchester - i live in a pritty shitty area - since its full of scallys (aka townies, chavs, twats, etc)
but just down the road theres longsight, which is pritty ruff, and its not the sort of place ya wanna hang around in - so ive heard but wot i mean is, the hip hop style is american, so doesnt fit in england i was justin guns and hoes as an example of how its diff i know theres guns in the UK but there not as common as in america, since we have laws against them its just my opinion, but hip hop doesnt suit the uk as ive said its just like garage prob wouldnt suit america since its prob people with Novas that listen to that and a nova would prob look shitty in america ![]() *edit* forgot to say, i remembered the guys name - Dizzy Rascal - cant stand him *edit* Edited by Scotty_32 |

^ Nah he's alright lol
There are some striking similarities between UK hip hop artists and U.S ones.. e.g Aesop Rock and Jehst both have that abstract, complex "difficult to understand" style.. |

I like The Streets.... that is realy the only rap outta UK that ive heard.. and i love them... but... USA wins this shit hands down.. there is SOOOOOO much talent, and not just the signed artists who are popular worldwide.. there are so many underground acts that are just as good if not better than some of the signed acts...

I've gotta say that i prefer the leadin heads in the UK underground scene to the leadin heads in the US undaground scene...like skinnyman, streets, klash, roots manuva, phi life cypha...i think that these guys are a lot rawer and bring a more varied style than a lot of the US heads, i think the US has the better lyricists but for the overall scene the UK scene has more high quality variety and i think UK heads shud be supportin UK artists ratha than buyin foreign undaground stuff
And on the 'coloured' thing, white ppl aint even white!!!! Caucasians still have a pigment under there skin and u dont get a white pigment, the only white people on this earth are ppl that have no pigment under there skin and are known as 'albino' thats why wen u hold your hand against a piece of paper that u can clearly see ya hand aint the same colour (if ur white and it aint recycled )...this is why 'white' people go browner wen they are exposed to 'more' sunlight, there body produces more of the pigment under the skin to protect against the harmful UV rays, because darker colours absorb these rays rather than lighter colours that allow them to penetrate and fuk up ur skin...which is why if u hit up a sunbed too much 'white' people will contract skin cancerSo now you know, u use your mind to judge not your eyes PEaceful |

briggzy: am from stockport - its a shithole (simply for the fact of the vast number of scallys)
i went to manchester center (arndale area) a while back (i dont go there often) and i was amazed to how many 'normal' people was there, yeah there was the odd scally here and there, but it wasnt like EVERY person you saw was a scally - it was weird to see though ![]() icec: wots wot all that about ![]() an yeah 'white' people are more pink, and 'black' people are more brown but hay, id rather say am white than pink dunno dont sound as goodPS: i profer US stuff, and am not into garage (like so soild crew and The Streets [i think there over-rated]) but Roots Manuva is ight, not heard much though. and i'll continue to buy wot i like, rather than rep sumfin i dont like ![]() Edited by Scotty_32 |

lmao @ Ice with the white shit... everyone knows that... or I'd hope so at least... black people ain't black either, they brown, even the darkest of the dark (and believe me I've seen some incccredibly dark people in person) aren't black, i.e. you put a fraction of their skin against a black piece of paper, it'd stand out clearly. Back to the US/UK shit, I prefer the US stylistically 'cuz I grew up on it and only found out about UK shit like 3 years ago, when I'd already been into/listening to Hip Hop for like 7 years or whatever... but I agree with Ice the caliber here is better 'cuz you gotta be that much fresher to get anywhere.
